Expanding Community Integration Training to Serve More Participants
ASLS announces expansion of our Community Integration Training Program, increasing capacity to serve 75 participants annually.
We're excited to announce a significant expansion of ASLS's Community Integration Training Program. Thanks to increased funding and community support, we're expanding our capacity from 50 to 75 annual participants, allowing us to serve more adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Program Growth
Our Community Integration Training Program has consistently demonstrated positive outcomes, with participants achieving increased independence, improved life skills, and successful community integration. This expansion allows us to meet growing demand and serve more individuals and families in Los Angeles County.
The expanded program will offer:
- Additional training sessions and workshops
- More one-on-one support and coaching
- Enhanced job readiness preparation
- Expanded community partnership opportunities
What Participants Learn
The Community Integration Training Program provides comprehensive skill development in areas essential for independent living:
Life Skills: Personal care, meal planning, household management, and financial literacy Social Skills: Communication, relationship building, and community interaction Employment Readiness: Workplace etiquette, professional communication, resume building, and interview preparation Safety and Navigation: Public transportation use, community safety, and emergency preparedness
